Through the Bible we can see that there are many times where ordinary people like you and me felt that God was distant.
We can be assured of that fact that if they felt this way, then we too will at some seasons in our life, feel the same.
Sometimes as Christians we don't want to mention this to our friends or Church community as it can appear negative and a reason for people to pity you. We don't agree with this though as it all depends on how you talk about it.
If we only talk all the time about our negatives, then yes we are condemning ourselves and looking for pity from people. If we talk about our whole lives, God in the high moments and in the low moments, it becomes a lot more real and accessible for people to understand God.
Think of David in the Bible, he is constantly talking about how Good God is and then questioning the Lord.
It's human nature to have these feelings and thoughts, think how many times in the Bible God sorted stuff out only for people to, in the next moment say
"Where are you Lord".
What do you do when you can't hear God?
Number 1 is keep going, keep reading the bible, keep praying, keep speaking in tongues, keep worshipping, keep going to Church, keep meeting with friends, keep telling people about Jesus.
"Why is this so important?" you may ask!
Well we know that we are in a spiritual battle, a battle to take us off track, to make us feel as if God doesn't care. That is why it is so important to keep the discipline of doing what you have been doing and not waver.
Get your friends to pray for you consistently as they will at some point need you to pray for them. Then speak out in faith what you want to see God do, declare his goodness, his banner of love over yourself.
We can safely say that as you wait on God, keep your spiritual practises in place, you will hear him again. It may not be the thing that you are looking for answers for but you will know it is the Holy Spirit guiding you.
